NEWTON, Mass. - Ceaco, a jigsaw puzzle and game manufacturer, has secured the exclusive license to produceEllen Eilers jigsaw puzzles using paintings by Ellen Eilers, a 93-year-old country artist. The 550-piece jigsaw puzzle series, titled Life in Calico Country, is now available.

Country artist Ellen EilersEilers creates her artwork at her kitchen table in Alexandria, Minn. She paints for 8 to 10 hours every day using materials like drinking straws and toothpicks to make refined rows and cotton ball clouds, and the chisel edge of a knife to create her quirky Popsicle trees, dimensional rock walls and moody skies. She draws inspiration from the art of simple country living.

Her work has often won recognition, such as four consecutive "originality and creativity" awards from the artists of a Minnesota organization and an "Artist of the Year" award from a nine-county arts council. She has won awards for her entire display, including the Charles Seeley Memorial Award for best exhibit in a new Richmond, Wis. art show and a second place display award at a Galena, Ill. art show. Eilers' stylized landscapes are a favorite.

"Ellen Eilers' paintings are genuine and whimsical, and we are absolutely delighted to welcome her artwork to the Ceaco family," said Donna Webster, vice president of licensing for Ceaco. "You truly get a feel for Ellen's life and surroundings through her paintings, so we are excited to introduce her work to a wider audience through our jigsaw puzzles."

Ceaco is offering three different 550-piece puzzles featuring Eilers' paintings.
