NEW YORK - What does it take to build a viable brand, and once a brand is established how do you extend its reach into categories that go beyond its core? These are just two of the many questions that will be addressed during a special branding Webinar sponsored by the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers' Association.

"Branding 101: Is It a Brand or Simply a Great Product or Trademark?" will be hosted by Elisa Webb Hill, senior consultant with the Sandhill Consulting Group's Consumer Products Specialty Practice. The session, which is part of the ongoing 2010 LIMA Webinar Series, will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, July 28.

Hill has more than 20 years experience in global consumer packaged goods with expertise in extending the reach of brands through product innovation, licensing and consumer promotions. Prior to joining Sandhill in 2009, she worked for several high profile companies, including Kellogg's, Coca Cola and Federated Dept. Stores. She is a certified trainer in the areas of strategy, innovation and project management and a former LIMA board member. Hill has also served on the board of directors for The Heritage Foundation, a non-profit organization for Cereal City USA, and the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts.

Based in Minneapolis, the Sandhill Consulting Group specializes in helping management teams defend or improve operating performance in a difficult economy and has special expertise in consumer products marketing, licensing and sourcing.

Dates and topics for future editions of the 2010 LIMA Webinar Series will be announced in the coming weeks.

Webinars are free to LIMA members and $99 for non-members.
