Julia Elliman
Julia Elliman has more than nine years experience as a sales representative in Central Texas. Throughout her career as a sales rep, Elliman has built long-lasting, respected relationships with buyers and retailers, and works tirelessly to grow existing accounts and build new business to enhance sales.
Currently, Elliman is a sales representative for Goetz Inc., in Dallas, where she represents more than 30manufacturers, including leading lines such as Jan Barboglio, Vietri, Thymes, Match, Pomeroy, Mariposa, Roost, Seda France, Illume and Voluspa. "Julia acts as a spotter ...for trends and new lines that would work well for me, even if they aren't hers," wrote retailer Melissa Haberstroh of The Burlap Horse in Boerne, TX. "Julia has fought to elimate broken case pack fees, gain credit for [returned] items and fielded calls ... when we needed to postpone a ship date. ... [She's even personally] transported incorrectly shipped/damaged items to save shipping fees and become a personal shopper for valuable customer at an open house.
"Prior to Goetz Inc., she was with the Madeline Wells showroom.
Amy Fischetto
Amy Fischetto
Amy Fischetto began her gift career as a fill-in at the New York International Gift Fair. She was fresh out of college and found herself overwhelmed and excited about all that she saw. "The people, the products, the endless stream of interest in items that made people happy. And so it began, my love affair for the gift industry," reflected Fischetto.
Her first job was with a rep group that represented about 30 lines. "There I learned the importance of relationship/partnership building with retailers. I saw that it was as important to grow your interpersonal relationships as it was your business," she said.
A retailer recommended her for the job of territory manager for C.R. Gibson and she has been there for the past 19 years. And for the last four she has acted as the Long Island/Brooklyn/Queens territory manager. Fischetto was recently honored with the Territory Manager of the Year at the company's National Sales Meeting.
Sue Ziff
Sue Ziff
Sue Ziff says she loves the retail business. She got her degree in retail/business from Syracuse University and went to work for Dey Brothers, a major department store in Syracuse, NY, right after graduation. She went through the company's executive training program and soon after became a buyer of Young Men's and Men's Sports wear.
The job required some traveling, and after Ziff had her children she decided it was time to leave her jet-setting life behind. She got a job in the advertising department and was responsible for special events, budgeting and photo shoots for all of the promotional booklets. Ziff was with Dey Brothers for 17 years until the company closed its doors.
She tried her hand at the sales side of the business working for Quality components for about 1½ years and found that electronic sales was not for her. She then found her job with Line works in 1994 and has been with the company ever since.
