White Plains, NY — Three products, of the more than 250 eligible, were selected by retailers to receive Eco Choice Awards. The awards, sponsored by The New York Intl. Gift Fair (NYIGF) and GreenRetailer, are decided by popular ballot from among the entries in NYIGF's juried SustainAbility display.Brinca Dada

The Emerson House by Brinca Dada won for Most Innovative, with its working solar panels that power the 23 LED lights throughout the dollhouse and CARB-certified wood and acrylic.

On The Rocks by Sea Stones LLC won for Most Sensitive Use of Materials. The drink chillers are re-purposed cores generated from drilling holes to create stone napkin rings. Sea Stones 'plants' a rough quarry stone in the ocean for every smooth stone the company collects, and replants ten times the number of trees used each year. The Sea Stones workshop is heated and cooled with a geothermal heat pump. The energy required for tooling comes from water, which is 100 percent re-circulated.

Kitchen Basics by Bambu won for Most Sellable. The kitchen implements are made from renewable, certified organic bamboo with no added finishes or substances.

Kids products that combine high play value and a design sensibility that blends with mom and dad's house are sure winners for specialty shops, who can market themselves as an alternative to cheap plastic imports and their problematic safety records.
