Plush vendor Douglas Company appointed Doug Adolphson as vice president of sales. Adolphson has more than 25 years of experience in the industry, at companies such as Russ Berrie, Gund, Crazy Mountain and Manual Woodworkers and Weavers.

Woolrich promoted Nick Brayton to director of domestic licensing. Brayton will be responsible for directing all domestic licensing business including accessories and home furnishings. He will also be responsible for product development, sales and marketing, merchandising and management of domestic licensees. Brayton is a seventh generation descendent of Woolrich founder John Rich. Previously, Brayton was responsible for managing the Woolrich accessory licensing business. Sharon Kepley, licensing manager of home furnishings, will report to Brayton.

The International Housewares Association (IHA) elected four new to its board, including David E. Elliott, general manager/KitchenAid Small Appliances; Daniel Oehy, president, Swissmar; Alvise Ricoveri, managing director, De'Longhi America Inc.; and Gary Seehoff, CEO, Evriholder Products LLC. Their three-year terms will begin October 1 and end September 30, 2013. New board officers were also elected, including Kaminstein, CEO of Casabella Holdings LLC Corp., as chairman; Barry D. Harper, president/CEO of Harper Brush Works Inc., as vice chairman/chairman elect; and Bill Reibl of Progressive International Corp. Officers serve one-year terms from October 1 to September 30, 2011.

Home furnishings vendor Theodore Alexander created the role of director of marketing communications and innovation, and appointed Lizzy Freundel to the new position. Freundel's previous position was director of marketing services. In her new role she will be responsible for development and execution of the company's social marketing and online advertising strategies, as well as overseeing the operation of marketing services, including internal and external corporate communications. Her responsibilities will also involve the training of Theodore Alexander retailers on leveraging social media and online opportunities, and exploring communication innovations and technology.
