Dorfman Hats Offer Protection From Zika Virus

STOCKTON, CA – With the growing fear of the Zika virus, Dorfman Pacific offers some protection. The company’s Stetson brand’s cloth hats and caps feature the Dorfman Pacific zika hatpatented No Fly Zone fabric which has an odorless, invisible insect-repellant layer of permethrin to help drive off mosquitos, ticks, ants, chiggers, flies and midges as soon as they land on it.

Permethrin is recommended by the CDC and WHO as a defense against insects, and it is also used to treat U.S. military uniforms and mosquito nets to improve their efficacy.

“The No Fly Zone hats are a non-toxic, odorless and invisible protection proven to repel insects like mosquitos and even ticks,” said Bill Stein, vice president of sales, Dorfman Pacific and head of the company’s Stetson division. According to Stein, neither swearing nor washing will deteriorate the effectiveness of the permethrin. “In fact the hats maintain effective protection even after70 washings,” he said.

The collection is available in eight styles and shapes. Unisex styles come in three sizes—medium, large and extra-large; there is a one-size-fits-all option for women.
