GDA Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 10/6/2010 2:02:36 PM

New York - Forty One Madison, The New York Merchandise mart is courting members of the interior design community to make them aware of the resources that the building's showroom tenants have to offer them and their businesses. Laurie Burns, Forty One Madison's senior vice president and director, is inviting interior designers and decorators to visit during the upcoming Tabletop Market, October 12-15, during which Forty One and Veranda magazine will host the first Interior Designer Evening, October 14.

Druing that evening metro-are designers are invited to visit the participating showrooms from 4-6 p.m. A champagne reception will be held from 6-8 p.m., where they will have the opportunity to meet the editors and network. In addition, EditorTV, an online network, will follow along with some of the visitors and record interviews and other items of interest, which will be broadcast a few weeks later at www.editoratlarge.com.
"So many of the tableware brands represented here at Forty One Madison are of the caliber that interest interior designers, whether they're specifying for a residence, a yacht, a restaurant, hotel or resort," said Burns. "Our mission is to help build that opportunity for business. We want to offer programming that can better acquaint and familiarize designers with these showrooms, and, in turn, help our Forty One community capitalize on this added potential for sales."
As further outreach into the design community, Forty One is a sponsor of the the upcoming Holiday House in New York, a fundraiser benefiting the Greater New York City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Top designers will create festive tablescapes, which go on view to the public from December 1-15.
