Changes at Winter 2011 NYIGF

GDA Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 10/18/2010 2:04:17 PM

White Plains, NY - The New York International Gift Fair continues with its many changes. One of the bigger additions is Internet-based tools to help buyers with planning for and navigating the market: search.nyigf.com, a new micro-site search engine and nygift.mwap.at, a NYIGF mobile application. Both tools will allow users to search by keyword, product category and location, or by categories such as new exhibitors or exhibitors with new booth locations.

Other highlights include the expansion of Baby & Child, the juried juvenile product division which launched at the summer 2010 fair; there will be further refinements made to the Handmade section; the Stationery and Publishers neighborhood in the General Gift will be expanded, as well as the return of The Licensing Gallery at NYIGF.

There will be nearly 30 educational seminars and social events planned for market week, including instructional sessions on social media, fair trade, sustainability, home and color trends, marketing and retail strategies.

The winter 2011 New York International Gift Fair is scheduled for January 29-February 3.

Kidding Around

Kids products that combine high play value and a design sensibility that blends with mom and dad's house are sure winners for specialty shops, who can market themselves as an alternative to cheap plastic imports and their problematic safety records.

EcoGreen

Green products have become more of a staple now. The products are not only good for the environment, today's collections also boast great design.

Just for Fun

Vendors' sense of fun was evident this summer with many offering light-hearted and fun accessories for the home and for the self.
