No, we do not carry toys or anything else pertaining to the baby market. One reason is because we tried it once, and it just did not sell well. Another reason is that we already have a baby store in my shopping center.
However, at Christmas I always like to bring in a small assortment of stuffed animals that are suitable for gift giving. I try to find something unusual that could possibly appeal to kids aged 1-10 years old.

However we do carry children's books and baby shower type gifts, such as blankets, at my shop on the Microsoft campus. There are lots of office baby shower events, so we decided to offer that category at that shop.
We also do carry the line of books by M. Sasek, the "This Is" series, like This is Paris, This is London, at all three shops. We have sold them for years, and I would say we sell as many to adults as kids, because they bring back such great memories.

The retail shops of Florida Hospital do carry toys year-round, accounting for approximately 1 percent of our total gross revenue. For fourth quarter we do emphasize toys, and typically carry educational and/or arts and crafts type of lines that include vendors such as Channel Craft, Geocentral, etc. Additionally, we like to bring in brand name toys such Hello Kitty and Mattel.
With our retail shops being located within the hospital setting, baby/child products from plush to accessories to apparel are a stronger hit for us. The plush lines include Mary Meyer, Aurora, and recently we have brought in Gund, with favorable results.

Kids products that combine high play value and a design sensibility that blends with mom and dad's house are sure winners for specialty shops, who can market themselves as an alternative to cheap plastic imports and their problematic safety records.
