AmericasMart Atlanta named Mike Gay senior vice president of marketing. Gay succeeds Mike Turnbull, who has Mike GayMike Gaybeen named senior vice president of strategic relations for AMC Inc., and its AmericasMart and LIGHTFAIR International entities. Gay joins AmericasMart following a 13-year tenure at Philips Consumer Lifestyle in Atlanta, where he served as vice president of marketing and general manager of e-commerce and value added services.

 

SnapRetail, a technology marketing company for independent retailers, hired Crystal Vilkaitis as director of social media. Vilkaitis previously ran a consulting company which helped small businesses market through social media websites. She has implemented social media plans Crystal VikaitisCrystal Vikaitisthat resulted in up to 2,700 percent increased web traffic and tripled online sales, according to SnapRetail, and was recently recognized by Fast Company in a ranking of the most influential people online. Vilkaitis moderated a panel at Gifts & Decorative Accessories' and sister brands' Online Technologies Conference in Chicago on November 9, and will participate in a panel at the Gift and Home Trade Association Conference in New Orleans.

 

New Hampshire-based plush manufacturer Douglas Company appointed Kim Palmer to the position of national sales manager.
