Washington, D.C. and Seattle - U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, in cooperation with children's apparel manufacturer BabyLegs, has issued a voluntary recall of baby socks and leg warmers with a heart appliqué. The appliqué can detach and pose a choking hazard to small children. The recalled products are pink, white or purple cable knit socks and leg warmers. The recalled items have been sold online and through independent retailers nationwide from August to November 2010. The firm has received one report of an infant choking on the heart-shaped appliqué, which was safely dislodged by the infant's mother.
