Kelly Dierke Acquires Palmer and Assoc.; Kirk Palmer Purchases Palmer Marketing

GDA Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 1/6/2011 4:38:22 PM

Dallas - Kelly Dierke, president of sales agency Ron Bauman & Associates Inc., acquired fellow manufacturers' Kelly DierkeKelly Dierkerepresentative firm Palmer and Associates. Kirk Palmer, former principal of Palmer and Associates, acquired Palmer Marketing, a national gift and marketing company.

Palmer and Associates will now be based in both Dallas and Overland Park, KS, where the agency is currently located. It will keep its name, as did Thomas & Moore, which Dierke acquired in April 2010. Wayne Cockle will become director of operations for all three companies. Kari Beauchamp will serve as director of business development focusing on key accounts, and Lisa Ballou will expand her role as inside sales manager to all three companies.

"My long-standing relationship with Kirk and his reps will ensure a seamless transition for our customers and vendors, which is our priority," Dierke said in a statement. The companies already share several lines.

Palmer and Associates covers Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, and Iowa. The company was originally founded by Wayne Palmer, Kirk's father, who also founded Palmer Marketing. Kirk Palmer first joined Palmer and Associates as a sales representative, then assumed general manager responsibilities before purchasing the company in 1991.

Palmer will serve as owner and general manager of Palmer Marketing, which will continue to be operated out of Overland Park, KS. Palmer Marketing will expand its marketing efforts to the general gift retail business and the newly established hospital gift shop business.
