This past November, the gift and home industry lost three of its pioneers: Norman Sadek, who cofounded the Charles Sadek Import Company with his father, for whom the company was named; Helen Boehm, who co-founded the Boehm Porcelain Studio with her husband Edward; and Williams-Sonoma chairman emeritus Howard Lester, who took a small local gourmet cookware store and built it into one of the biggest lifestyle home furnishings operations in the country.
