Putumayo Introduces Global Children's Decor, Gifts

New York -- World music label Putumayo is expanding its reach to include product categories of gifts and room decor for children. Initial products will include wall decor, coloring books, sticker collections and greeting cards featuring the Putomayodistinctive artwork of Nicola Heindl, whose colorful, folkloric work appears on all of Putumayo's more than 150 CDs. Putumayo has sold more than 25 million world music CDs since it was created in 1993.

The World Art Prints will feature the artwork of six of Putumayo's best-selling adult and children's CDs, and will be mounted on ready-to-hang, 15" by 14" pressed wood board with bold, richly-hued scenes of Africa, Europe, Latin America, and North America. The wall art will retail for $24.95, and will be making its debut at Toy Fair.

The new product expansion also includes an Africa coloring book with 20 oversized coloring pages, printed with soy ink and featuring people, animals and musical instruments of Africa, with a retail price point of $9.95. The Africa sticker collection includes more than 100 reusable stickers with a fold-out African landscape, full-color map and glossary, with a retail price point of $11.95. African coloring books and sticker collections will also debut at Toy Fair, while European and Latin American-themed coloring books and sticker collections will be launched in the spring.

Putumayo is also offering world note cards, with artwork from Africa, Europe, Latin America and North America on 12 blank notecards accompanied by 12 envelopes, all packaged in a colorful gift box with a retail price point of $11.95.
