Scholarships for Jewelry Artists

GDA Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 1/24/2011 3:26:03 PM

Philadelphia - Scholarships are now available for jewelry artists interested in receiving business training in the Visiting Artist Program of the Buyers Market of American Craft. The scholarships are available through a gift from Halstead Bead Inc. The scholarship donation will cover admission fees for several jewelry artists.

The Visiting Artist Program, run by the non-profit Arts Business Institute, will provide one- and two-day workshops teaching crafts entrepreneurship, including how to launch a business, develop and promote product lines and price artwork for wholesale and retail sales.

The program is offered twice a year and tailored for studio-based artists who make and sell jewelry, fashion accessories and designer products for home or office, including tile pottery, glass art and other fine crafts.

The Visiting Arts Program will be offered at Buyers Market of American Craft, held February 19-20, in Philadelphia. The next program will be offered July 11, in Baltimore.
