> SMALL-BUSINESS BANKRUPTCIES fell 4.4 percent in the 15 U.S. metropolitan areas with the most such bankruptcies in the third quarter of 2010, according to an Equifax report. Of the 15, 11 saw drops in the number of bankruptcies, including Atlanta, with a 27 percent drop, and Chicago, with 17 percent. L.A., however, saw a 4.6 percent increase. Meanwhile 10 of the the 15 areas with the fewest small business bankruptcies also saw decreases: all reported 11 bankruptcies or less during the third quarter.
