NPD: Nearly Half of Consumers to Buy Toys During Holidays

npdPORT WASHINGTON, NY - The NPD Group released its 2016 Holiday Purchase Intentions report, which provides analysis to better understand consumers’ spending intentions for this holiday season.

Overall, the study found that 41 percent of U.S. consumers plan to purchase toys as holiday gifts this year, up from 35 percent during the 2015 holiday season.

This marks the third largest response, behind Clothing/Accessories and Entertainment and is also one of the largest increases among supercategories, behind Tech/Electronics, Home, and Liquor/Wine, according to The NPD Group.
