Offbeat News: Coops that Soar

Chickens won't want to fly these coops. Thanks to the trend toward urban farming, the Dwell on Design show at the Los Angeles Convention Center featured modernist housing for city chicks - and yes, they had real live tenants. According to JustLuxe.com, the so-called "chicken co-ops" were created by a company called RAAD, also known for designing the Alice + Olivia Malibu store, and they retail for $3,500 - not counting the cost of a human co-op with roof rights.
