Vera Bradley promoted Monica Edwards to vice president of marketing & communications. Edwards, who joined the company in 2006, was formerly the senior marketing creative director. Mike Vance, a newcomer to Vera Bradley, was appointed vice president and COO. He previously served as the CIO and vice president of strategic planning for the Steak 'n Shake Company. Both appointees have relocated to Fort Wayne to assume their responsibilities.

The Trade Associates Group Ltd. (TAG) appointed Erica Friedman to direct and manage TAG productErica FriedmanErica Friedman development, working closely with its design and sourcing teams. Friedman has worked on product development for Waterfold Wedgword, Macy's, Dansk, Ralph Lauren and Sasaki, among others. Before joining TAG, she worked as senior design director for Indigo Books & Music of Toronto.

Melanie DeCoteau, a 12-year business veteran, was appointed show manager of the Montreal Gift Show by the Canadian Gift and Tableware Association (CGTA). As show manager, DeCoteau will oversee all show operations and marketing.

 

Adam Berg was appointed senior vice president of membership and new business development by the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers' Association appointed Adam Berg. Before working for LIMA, he served as senior vice president of licensing sales at Equity Management.Helene Bransiel, senior key account manager for Fitz and Floyd, was promoted to senior key account manager for Maxwell & Williams Designer Homewares, an Australian-based brand that is distributed in the U.S. by Fitz and Floyd. She will retain her responsibilities as account manager as she begins her work with Maxwell & Williams.

Giftcraft Ltd., a giftware and lifestyle company, appointed Russ Hines as executive sales director. Hines most recently worked as senior vice president of the Russ Berrie Company. Ken Hines and Rich Wood, former sales executives at Russ Berrie, also joined Giftcraft as sales directors. Joe Falcony was promoted to national sales manager of the USA division from the Northeast director of sales.

Clay Vordenbaum joined Drake Designs/The Faith Collection and Little River Gift as their new vice president of sales. Vordenbaum previously worked for Figi Graphics, Giftcraft and, most recently, Danielson Designs.

Rob Larkin has partnered up with Puttin' Out, a social networking site for businesses. Larkin is known for helping Snap Retail launch in 2009. Most recently, he worked as a district sales manager for Ganz Inc.

 

The NPD Group Inc. appointed three Long-Island based executives. Diane Nicholson, president of NPD's beauty access unit for the last six years, was moved to serve as president of the U.S. fashion footwear and accessories unit. Amy Hyland, who led the company's U.S. toys business unit, has been appointed president of the U.S. fashion apparel business unit. She will be replaced by Juli Lennet as president of the toys business unit. Lennet most recently served as an executive director of client development for toys & KIDS (Kids Industry Data Service).

WAC Lighting promoted Maher A. Shaheen, central regional sales manager, to the WAC Lighting management team. He will share oversight of national business development responsibilities with Ryan Berlin, Eastern regional sales manager, and Tim Vislay, Western regional sales manager. Shaheen previously worked for Lamps Plus as general manager of several locations and Internet commerce sales supervisor.
