REA Century Awards Nomination Deadline Extended to June 9th
April 26, 2017,
Editor's note: Nominations are now closed. Check back for updates on the judging process and a list of finalists.
Who's your hero in the gift industry (other than the inventor of the Pet Rock, of course)? Is it a sales representative who has been walking the floor for 50 years and counting? Is it a shop owner whose innovative design ideas have kept him on the map? Who in the gift industry do you respect the most, and why are they deserving of one of our first-ever Century Awards?
Instead of our traditional annual Retailer Excellence Awards and celebration, GDA will host a special once-in-a-lifetime event, presenting the all-new Century Awards.
These awards will acknowledge achievements in the gift and home industry from all sectors of the business, both short-term and long-term. Individuals, companies and institutions will be recognized for excellence in several major categories, including the Retailer Century Award, the Supplier Century Award, the Sales Representative/Agency Century Award, the Designer Century Award and the Influencer Century Award. These will represent achievements anytime over the past 100 years.
Nominations will be accepted online at giftsanddec.com starting April 1 and running through June 9, 2017.
Have an individual or company in mind? The nomination process is open to all in the industry, and you may nominate any person or company, including yourself, which has operated in the industry anytime over the past 100 years.
Nominators will be asked to provide a brief endorsement in support of their Century Award candidate and at least one image.
Judging will be conducted by the editors of Gifts and Decorative Accessories and selected industry members.
Three finalists will be selected for each category, and the winner will be announced at the REA Century Awards celebration on Sunday, August 20th in New York City. The event, which is the biggest annual celebration hosted by Gifts and Decorative Accessories, will be a fun, upbeat social affair at the waterfront venue, The Lighthouse.
