Van Nuys, CA - Judge David O. Carter of the U.S. District Court in Santa Ana, CA, denied a request filed by Mattel to post bond pending appeal of the verdict in its legal battle with MGA, maker of Bratz, to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Carter ordered Mattel to post $315 million bond by August 23.
The amount would cover a jury award of $85 million for theft; another $85 million in judge-ordered punitive damages, plus $139,887,177 to cover MGA's legal fees and costs.
We would love your feedback!
