Design a Focus for NYIGF

"100 Days of Design" campaign will launch in October

GDA Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 9/23/2011 10:16:53 AM

White Plains, NY - Next month, the New York International Gift Fair will launch the "100 Days of Design" campaign where, according to Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president, "the NYIGF community and the design industry at large, can share their perspectives, knowledge and experiences."

"100 Days of Design" is set to launch on Thursday, October 20, exactly 100 days before the start of the winter NYIGF. The main component of the campaign will be the "100 Days of Design" blog featuring guest posts authored by NYIGF exhibitors, design luminaries and design authorities.

There will also be an Accent on Design Awards retrospective which will be presented as a photographic gallery installation at the fair that will showcase winners of the awards since its launch in 1984.

Other highlights of the program will include design-focused seminars, author appearances, networking events and a special display.

The campaign is a support component of NYIGF's Focus Forward 2013 strategic plan to redefine the show and gradually reorganize it into four major sections: NYIGF Home, NYIGF Lifestyle, NYIGF Handmade and NYIGF New.

The winter NYIGF will take place January 28-February 2, 2012.
