Game Time

Kathy Krassner -- Gifts and Dec, 10/10/2011 5:38:10 AM

Now celebrating its 25th anniversary, it's no puzzle why Buffalo Games is a success: it is known for its hot games and puzzles.
BUFFALO GAMES WAS FOUNDED IN 1986 BY PAUL AND EDEN DEDRICK - a young couple with dreams of bringing innovative games and puzzles to the marketplace. Eden had some prior experience in the business, having worked at her father's puzzle-manufacturing company, TUCO, during summers and after school. In fact, it was Eden's father, Don Scott, who along with John Fisher invented Buffalo Games' first product, which was sold through small-to-medium-sized retailers and mail-order catalogs, and shot Buffalo Games from near obscurity to being a major player in the marketplace.
The company currently has approximately 200 titles of puzzles and party games, which typically retail between $10 and $20 for the puzzles and between $20 and $30 for the games. To commemorate "25 Years of Fun," Buffalo Games unveiled two new party games, "Gotcha" and "Phone Frenzy," as well as six new puzzle lines, including a 4,000-piece series (the only U.S.-based company to produce this size puzzle). However, Paul admits that his personal favorite puzzle still remains the "World's Most Difficult" because "it put us on the map."
"Beyond our products, it's our people who have made this company what it is today," states Paul. "Over the past 25 years, I have been asked many times: "What's the key to your success?" My answer is always the same - our people. And it goes beyond our staff here at Buffalo Games; it's our extended friends and family, our partners at retail, the media, and the tens of millions of consumers who purchase and enjoy our games and puzzles. Being a part of Buffalo Games is more fun than ever, so I hope for 25 more fun and rewarding years."
