Yankee Candle Sales Grow

South Deerfield, MA - Yankee Holding Corp. and The Yankee Candle Company Inc. reported sales for the third quarter of 2011 of $195.1 million, a $19.4 million or 11 percent increase from the prior year third quarter. Sales in the wholesale segment were $83.2 million, an increase of $7 million or 9.2 percent. The company attributed the increase primarily to increased sales to the premium mass and department store channels. Retail sales were $84.9 million, an increase of $5.3 million or 6.6 percent. Sales in the International segment were $27 million, an increase of $7.1 million or 35.6 percent. The company recorded net income of $12.5 million, compared to net income of $8.8 million for the third quarter of 2010.
