Throwback Thursday: All Out War-Effort

In 1943 America was going into it's second year of World War Two. The country became focused on promoting war bonds and conserving materials. The war had a noticeable effect on Gifts and Dec's issues, filling the pages with editorial pieces and advertisements supporting the war effort.
Even GDA's own had to leave to join the military.
Many companies announced their rationing and conservation plans through ads in our magazine.
Soldiers became a popular theme for companies. From posing in photos to special edition products, they were on every page.
