How would you like to cut your marketing budget and reach your current customers more often? Here are my top secret proven tricks of the online marketing world that will help you market more Effectively.
Facebook
Edit Page: Double check to ensure your information is complete and accurate.
■ About Section: Feature your tag line and major brands you represent.
■ Featured LIKES: After liking pages of stocked brands, set them as featured likes.
■ Post daily: Socialize with your audience as if it is your best friend.
■ Respond to fans as if they 're customers in your store.
■ Profile Picture: Use the maximum size (180 x 540); change every holiday.
■ Thumbnail Adjustment should be easily identified at 90 x 90 px.
■ Headline Photos: Adjust them to reflect stocked products/ brands.
■ Photo Albums: Clean up and sort photos into albums. Name accordingly.
■ Deal: Create a deal; announce it via other marketing platforms.
■ Contest: ONLY host one with a third party application or developer plug in.
■ Insights: Review them at least once per week to learn about you r audience.
Twitter
■ Brand Background with business logo and graphics.
■ Tweet daily. The quicker the response on Twitter, the better.
■ Auto-Tweet based on mentions or keywords to get the conversation going.
Foursquare
■ Claim your place, complete the information and create a Mayorship Special.
Pinterest
■ Create an account with story boards for products. Pinterest people like pretty photos, so a photography class may be a good investment as well as fun.
Website
■ Performance: Ensure your site is recognized (AKA SEO/Search Engine Optimized) by search engines like Google, Yahoo, etc.
■ Connect site to Google Analytics and review reporting each month to make sure your website is generating leads.
■ Social Plug Ins: Add the product Like plug in and Pin it feature to product pages.
■ Update websites with professional graphics each month to include promotions, products and events, and remove discontinued merchandise. Replace old brand logos with new ones.
Common Missed Opportunities That Socially Matter
■ In-Store Signage should be in store windows, in the store bathrooms, at POS.
■ Require that sales staff mention social media deals.
■ Use POS systems to effectively track marketing methods. Most retailers have the ability in current POS softwares, they just don't know how.
■ Cross Market Social Media Campaigns/Deals on all marketing pieces.
■ Education: Join online webinars to learn and keep up with the latest marketing opportunities for Facebook, Twitter and other forms of social media marketing.
■ Claim Online Places: Visit Yext.com to see the places you're listed. Click on each one to manually claim it yourself to avoid fees, or pay Yext to clean them up all at once.
■ Collect Data at POS: Connect with your customers after they leave the store. Obtain their information (in order of importance): First and last name, email address, mobile number, original marketing that brought them in, birthday, zip code, address
