GDA Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 1/23/2012 12:42:44 PM

Washington, DC - Mei Xu, founder of Chesapeake Bay Candle, participated in the "Insourcing AmericaObama Mei XuPresident Obama shakes hands with CBC founder Mei Xun Jobs" forum at the White House. Hosted by President Obama and Vice President Biden, the forum focused on the trend of companies choosing to "insource" jobs and invest in growing in the United States. As part of the event, President Obama and Vice President Biden met with business leaders, as well as experts on the topic, to discuss why it's competitive to locate in the United States and what more can be done to work with companies to take similar steps.

Mei Xu was invited to share her insights and experiences from recently opening a factory in Glen Burnie, MD, which is expected to offer up to 100 jobs when operating at full capacity. The factory has created about 40 positions so far. Chesapeake Bay Candle also owns three Asian manufacturing operations - one in China and two in Vietnam.
