Mattel, Hasbro Named to Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For List

Playthings Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 1/26/2012 1:15:32 PM

New York - Fortune magazine ranked major toy vendor Mattel #79 on its annual "100 Best Companies to Work For" list. This is the fifth consecutive year Mattel has been named to the list. Fellow major toy vendor Hasbro was also named to the list at #82. This is the second year in a row Hasbro has made the list.

To pick the 100 Best Companies to Work For, Fortune partners with the Great Place to Work Institute to conduct an employee survey. More than 246,000 employees at 280 firms participated. Two-thirds of a company's score is based on the results of the institute's Trust Index survey, which is sent to a random sample of employees. The other third is based on responses to the institute's Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefit programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring practices, methods of internal communication, training, recognition programs and diversity efforts.
