Nuremberg, Germany - Spielwarenmesse International Toy Fair Nürnberg has seen an increase in attendance by international visitors. At this year's fair, 55 percent of the 77,500 buyers and retailers attending were international visitors, according to show management. Spielwarenmesse eG's CEO Ernst Kick attributes the strong international presence to starting the fair one day earlier than in previous years.
"By advancing the start of the fair, we are responding to the attendance habits of the visiting toy professionals from 119 countries and now offer them more consecutive working days," says Ernst Kick. More buyers came particularly from Russia, the U.S.A. and Great Britain.
Of the 2012 fair's 2,776 exhibitors, 92 percent have already said they will exhibit at the International Toy Fair 2013; 87 percent of visitors are also planning to attend the fair again next year, and nearly 41 percent of them do not visit any other fair connected with the toy industry.
