Candle Warmers Etc. Requests Product Recall Correction by CPSC

Woods Cross, UT - Candle Warmers Etc. has requested that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) correct the inaccurate use of the term "candle warmers" made in its February 1, 2012 product recall: "Christmas Tree Shops candle warmers - Fire hazard."
According to Candle Warmers Etc., the product subject to the recall involved a "tea light (fragrance) warmer" rather than a "candle warmer." Candle Warmers Etc. is the patent holder of the original "candle warmer" plate, lamp and lantern. A "candle warmer" is an electronic product that uses a halogen bulb or hot plate rather than a flame to "melt" the candle to release fragrance. The recent recall involved products using a flamed tea light to warm a decorative bowl designed to hold fragrant oil or wax melts.
