Mattel Issues 2012 Global Citizen Report

Playthings Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 10/25/2012 6:38:25 AM

EL SEGUNDO, CA - Mattel has published its fourth Global Citizenship Report to demonstrate  the company's commitment to responsible play. The annual report helps establish the company's sustainability goals and includes a website to help engage consumers in Mattel's citizenship efforts.

The latest report entitled We Believe Play Matters, highlights the toy manufacturer's commitment to operating as a responsible member of the global business community, including the ensurance of quality and safety of products, reducing the overall impact of its products and operations on the environment and investing in strategic philanthropic partnerships to make a positive impact on the global communities it touches.

As a supplement to the report, Mattel also launched a consumer web-based version to educate people about the company's efforts. The site features comprehensive information around the evolution of the company's efforts and includes digital storytelling content as well as 19 video vignettes that help bring these stories to life in more meaningful ways for Mattel's stakeholders.

"We are thrilled to be able to share with our consumers the progress we're making as a responsible member of the business community," said Lisa Klein, senior vice president, Corporate Responsibility, Mattel, in a statement. "We're also excited to give an inside look into how we are working toward our vision for creating the future of play through the goals we've set."
