France Partner Country at Ambiente

GDA Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 1/24/2013 3:05:35 PM

FRANKFURT, GERMANY-France will be the partner country at the upcoming Ambiente fair. The partnership is a special one this year, since it marks the 50th anniversary of the German-French Treaty of Friendship-the Elysée Treaty.

"From fashions to tableware, the influence of French design is felt all around the world. The creativity and the style consciousness of our French neighbors enrich Ambiente every year," said Nicolette Naumann, vice president of Ambiente and Tendence. There will be approximately 150 companies from France presenting their new products.

On Partner Country Day, Monday, February 18, under the heading "La Fete de la France," there will be a series of lectures on French lifestyle design, and arts and crafts. Representatives from French exhibitors will speak about combining quality and pleasure oriented traditions with the demand of the global market and what consumers want. Participating companies include, Arc International, Cristel, De Buyer and Nogent.

A special presentation, "La France un art de vivre," will be held in Hall 4.1. The display is curated by Olivia Putnam, the artistic director of Studio Putnam and ambassador of the Partner Country France project. The display is based on a typical French apartment and will include products from such manufacturers as, Christofle, Ercuis, Lalique, Mauviel and Pierre Frey, as well as smaller pieces of furniture and accessories by students of the École Supérieure des Arts Appliqués Duperré.

Ambiente is scheduled for February 15-19.
