Urban Expo Buys Two Gulf Coast Gift Shows

Atlanta — Urban Expositions purchased the Panhandle Gift Show in Panama City, FL, and the Gulf Coast Gift Show in Galveston, TX, from Pro-Mark Inc. Urban will rename the shows the Panama City Gift & Resort Merchandise Show (scheduled for October 20–23, 2002), and the Gulf Coast Gift & Resort Merchandise Show (October 13–15, 2002). "Completing our Florida strategy, the Panama City show joins our shows in Miami and Orlando to give us full coverage of the state," said Urban president Doug Miller. "From a national standpoint, the Galveston acquisition has expanded our reach through the Gulf Coast region." Norm Gulkis, chief executive of Pro-Mark, said, "We have provided personal service to both exhibitors and buyers for 28 years, and Urban Expositions is the company to continue that tradition."
