New York — Retailers, reps, manufacturers, and other industry leaders attending the National Stationery Show in New York in May crowded the Metropolitan Pavilion to help Gift for Life celebrate ten years of raising funds for AIDS research and education. The Today Show's Ann Curry kicked off the evening with an impassioned call to keep up the fight. Andrea Grossman, of Mrs. Grossman's Paper Company, and Skip Ungrodt, of Ideation, were presented with Gift for Life Awards. Peter Schauben, one of the organization's founding members, received a special amfAR Award for Courage from amfAR's founder, Dr. Mathilde Krim. More than $210,000 was raised from ticket and raffle sales, as well as live and silent auctions at the event. High bidders bought cruises, hotel stays, and box tickets to a Yankees/Mets game.
