The 2002 Awards Finalists
Staff -- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 7/1/2002
This year marks the 51st anniversary of Gifts & Decorative Accessories' Awards presentations. For the first 50 years they were known as the Merchandising Achievement Awards, but we changed the name to Retailer Excellence Awards in 2002 to reflect more precisely that this is a competition for, and about, retailers.
The 2002 Awards are given for Store Design, Promotion, and Visual Merchandising undertaken in 2001. The selection of the finalists and the Gold and Silver Award winners was made by a panel composed of Gifts & Dec's editors; the exhibit design project manager of George Little Management, Matthew Goodman; and visual merchandising lecturer and writer, Linda Cahan.
Full coverage of the finalists in Store Design begins on page 102. Promotion finalists will be featured in the August issue, and Visual Merchandising finalists will be covered in the September issue.
