Santa Barbara, CA — A battle with breast cancer is forcing Carol Silverander to close the doors of her company, EthnoGraphics Greeting Cards, effective August 31. Begun 15 years ago, EthnoGraphics was one of the first greeting card producers to feature artwork reflecting African-American, Asian, Jewish, Latino, and Native American cultures. The ethnic market is now a fast-growing segment of the greeting card industry. "This was a very difficult decision to make," said Carol. "I feel that we were ahead of the trend, and now I have to say goodbye." Silverander served on the Greeting Card Association board of directors for a number of years.
