The Public Broadcasting System will introduce the first of its mall stores, PBS Kids, this fall in Nashville. The outlets will feature reading nooks, TV kiosks with PBS programs, and PBS-designed merchandise such as games and T-shirts.

Fine art licensor Porterfield's announced that artist Diane Knott signed a license for dinnerware products with Mesa Intl. Other Knott licensees include Evergreen Enterprises and Pure Country Weavers.

Umbra filed a patent infringement lawsuit in New York against Eddie Bauer Inc., accusing Bauer of knocking off Umbra's "Ante" playing card/case combination.
