2002 REA Awards Presented at Plaza Gala

It was almost 20 years ago that I first read Gifts & Dec, and I knew right away that I wanted a store that would be pictured on its pages," said Dee Zehnder as she accepted a Gold Award at the Retailer Excellence Awards gala at New York's Plaza hotel, Sunday, August 11. Her store, Zehnders Magic of the Seasons, won for Store Design. Other Gold winners were Hoypoloi for Store Design; Welcome Home and Ruby & Begonia for Visual Merchandising; and Andrew Morton Gifts for Promotion. Silver Award winners for Store Design were Parchment and Gabriala's; for Promotion, Black Sheep Designs and The Little House; and for Visual Merchandising, Lasting Impressions Home Gallery. More than 200 guests cheered on all the finalists, and greeted the 2002 Industry Achievement Award honoree, Clyde R. Brownstone of the Gift Box Corporation of America. The event was sponsored by George Little Management. Co-sponsors were the Dallas Market Center, DMG World Media, Western Exhibitors, Whereoware, 225 Fifth Avenue, 230 Fifth Avenue, and 41 Madison.
