Camille Beckman Opens State-of-the-Art Factory

After a number of years in planning, personal care manufacturer Camille Beckman will open a new state-of-the-art factory and retail outlet on 38 acres of land bordering the Boise River in the town of Eagle, Idaho. The 105,000-square-foot facility, built in an English cottage style, replaces five warehouses in downtown Boise that the company had operated out of. "When the county took over our parking lot for a new court house, we knew it was time to move," laughs company president and founder Susan Roghani. A special feature of the new facility involves an artesian well on the property that provides a constant flow of 62-degree water traveling through a grid of pipes to keep the building cool in the summer and warm in the winter, as well as providing pure water for use in manufacturing. Roghani has even more ambitious plans for the facility, including the addition of five decorative gardens and an art gallery featuring the works of Hungarian artist Louis Mark (1867–1942). The gallery will be modeled after the artist's villa in Budapest. Beginning next January, Roghani will inaugurate a series of public seminars with experts speaking about soap making, quilting, dry flower arranging, and other subjects. The ribbon-cutting ceremony takes place on Friday, October 18, and an open house follows on Saturday.
