OneCoast Launches Training Program

New York — OneCoast Network, the nationwide group of gift and home decor manufacturer representatives, introduced an innovative online training program for its sales force of 300 territory managers. A OneCoast senior manager holds planning sessions with a supplier to create a specific training curriculum that focuses on increasing product knowledge. The curriculum is then rolled out to OneCoast Network territory managers all at once via the Internet and audio conferencing, with up to 50 people, including supplier executives, participating at a time. The sessions, about an hour in length, are held before the start of the business day, or immediately after. United Design, Mud Pie, and The Thymes are among the suppliers that OneCoast has worked with in the program. "[Our] session had immediate impact with the sales team, including a significant growth of sales to retailers," said Bobby Ray Cox, vice president of sales for United Design.
