Los Angeles — Trade show organizer DMG World Media purchased a substantial share of the California Market Center (CMC) from its owners, the Hertz Group. In August 2001, DMG took out a long-term lease and began renovating the facility to create a one million-square-foot gift and home decor mart. The other two thirds of the center are dedicated to apparel. DMG's partners in marketing and leasing the CMC, George Little Management (GLM) and the Dallas Market Center, will maintain their responsibilities, with GLM taking a more active role. GLM also produces the California Gift Show, which is owned by DMG. Paul Lentz, general manager of the CMC, will continue to lead the in-house management team.
