Sy Stewart, vice chairman of strategic planning for Syratech Corp., was named chairman of the advisory board of The Ozer Group, Needham, MA., a retail consulting, business evaluation, and asset disposition firm.

The 40-year-old silk specialist company Suburban Silk opened a new corporate permanent showroom in the L.A. Mart, suite 253. Also, Bernhardt Furniture Company opens a first floor, 8,000-square-foot showroom in the L.A. Mart this month. It will feature a separate area for its Martha Stewart Signature Collection.

The late artist Charles Wysocki was inducted into the Bradford Exchange Hall of Fame. Wysocki's work is represented by Mosaic Licensing Inc., Concord, CA.

Thirstystone Resources, Phoenix, recently received the 2002 BBB Business Ethics Award for Southern Arizona. Thirstystone president John Halton accepted the award.

Media Arts Group and Starlite Originals, Studio City, CA, entered a licensing agreement giving Starlite the rights to produce three Thomas Kinkade pieces in three-dimensional works of metal sculpture imbedded in Lucite.

Plush vendor Aurora World, Compton, CA, appointed Sean Hellenbrand director of license marketing. Hellenbrand will coordinate Aurora's worldwide licensing marketing efforts.

Michel Studio, Culver City, CA, changed its name to Punch Studio; Todd Kirshner is president.

Enesco Group president and CEO Dan DalleMolle rang the closing bell of the New York Stock Exchange on January 31, to mark the 25th anniversary of the Precious Moments collection.

The Craft Emergency Relief Fund (CERF) provided $66,000 in emergency and disaster relief assistance during 2002 to 29 craft artists in 18 states.
