Chicago — Merchandise Mart Properties (MMPI) and the Chicago Gift & Home Market will hold a "Run Around the Mart" fundraiser on Sunday, July 27, to benefit Gift for Life and AIDS research. Buyers, exhibitors, and friends are invited to enter a 5K run (or a 3K walk) around the world's largest commercial building, The Merchandise Mart, which covers two city blocks. The entry fee is $15, and the starting time is 7:30 a.m. Following a morning run (or walk) and a day of order writing at the summer Chicago Gift & Home Market, everyone is invited to attend Sunday evening's 6th annual Summertime Block Party and Special Auction (of decorated umbrellas) on the Chicago Mart's front drive.
