Washington, DC — Due to passage of legislation to reform funding for its pension plan, the U.S. Postal Service announced that the current price of postage stamps will remain unchanged until at least 2006, after two first class postal rate increases in the last two years. The Greeting Card Association (GCA), which has been at the forefront of the issue lobbying on behalf of the greeting card industry, applauded passage of the legislation, which President Bush is expected to sign. "The savings to be realized mean that consumers can continue to mail their birthday, holiday, and everyday greeting cards at a reasonable rate for the next several years," said Russell Snyder, executive vice president of the GCA.
