Encore, Papel in License Deal

Winston-Salem, NC — Papel Designs signed a licensing agreement with The Encore Group giving Encore exclusive use of the Papel Giftware brand name in the U.S. Stanley Papel and daughter Melissa will retain their roles in the creative development of Papel Giftware, along with the Papel product team and added Encore resources. Encore will continue Papel's Midlife Crisis program, as well as introducing a new Name Mug program, an updated Greeting Mug program, and new Papel Designs gift lines. "The Papel name is one of the most respected in our industry, and we are extremely pleased to add it to The Encore Group alongside Rawcliffe, Xpress, Wyland, Living Stone, Snow Buddies, and others," said E.C. (Redge) Hanes, vice chairman of Encore. Papel Designs also terminated a licensing agreement with Van Group that it entered into at the beginning of 2003.
