IHA Members Get Freight Break
By Staff -- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 10/1/2003
Rosemont, IL — Members of the International Housewares Association (IHA) get a real break on freight charges through a five-year-old program run by Transportation Programs for Associations (TPA). Savings come in the form of a 68 percent discount on LTL (less than truckload) shipping and a three-tiered FAK (freight all kinds) structure.
The program also offers IHA's 1,700 member companies a discount of up to 25 percent on all small package shipments delivered via FedEx Ground, and up to 19 percent off with FedEx Express.
"Our program is particularly valuable to companies that spend less than $10 million [per year] on LTL freight," said TPA's president, Jack Chambers.
