Decorize Inc., Springfield, MO, appointed co-founder Jim Parsons chief executive, following the resignation of Jon Baker. Kevin Bohren was named chairman of the board.

Moscow's Alpi Publishers will publish a Russian language edition of Carol L. Schroeder's book Specialty Shop Retailing. It will be issued simultaneously with the Russian edition of Sam Walton's biography. Schroeder is a regular Gifts & Decorative Accessories columnist.

The group manager for DMG World Media's Canadian gift shows, Chris Gowe, will run in the 2003 New York City Marathon. He is expected to raise $4,200 for Gift for Life, the gift industry organization to benefit AIDS research. The run takes place November 2.

California Marketing Associates, Los Angeles, appointed Glenda VanMeter sales manager for northern California and northern Nevada.

Wildlife and floral painter Collin Bogle signed a licensing rep deal with Porterfield's Fine Art Licensing, Concord, NH.

The Baltimore-based Rosen Group, producers of the Buyers Market of American Craft and publishers of Niche and American Style magazines, promoted Kurt Herring to general manager of the publishing division and hired Rebecca Cason as general manager of the show division.
