By Staff -- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 11/1/2003
A permanent showroom of Indian products will open as part of the International Gift and Home Accessories Market, January 14–21, 2004, at the Dallas Market Center. Called the India Pavilion, the project will be presented in cooperation with the Indian Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) and the Indian Ministry of Textiles. Located on the sixth floor of the World Trade Center, adjacent to the Garden District, the Pavilion will feature hundreds of items — decorative accessories, home textiles, tabletop, stationery, jewelry, and fashion accessories — from dozens of Indian manufacturers. "The Export Promotion Council and the Indian government are extremely excited about showcasing our high-quality goods in the vital Dallas Market Center," said Rakesh Kumar, executive director of the EPCH. "We are working together to help U.S. retailers find the best new resources." Special artisans, entertainment, food and product displays with Indian themes will be featured throughout the DMC.
