Fort Wayne, IN — Handbag and accessories manufacturer Vera Bradley settled a copyright infringement claim with Florida-based Studio Imports Ltd. for $100,000. The agreement requires Studio Imports to stop importing, promoting, or selling any products that infringe upon Vera Bradley's designs, and to remove all such products from its inventory. "We copyright all of our fabric designs because it's important to maintain a unique identity in the marketplace," said Vera Bradley v.p. of sales Mike Ray. The case is the second that's been settled since Vera Bradley hired a New York-based copyright attorney.
