Universal Shows' Seattle Gift Show, January 24–28, will add a Cash & Carry division featuring 42 booths.
The New York International Gift Fair, January 31–February 5, will debut Karim Rashid's redesign of the Accent on Design division.
Peer Baekgaard's men's specialty gift import company, Baekgaard Ltd. moved headquarters from Northbrook, IL, to Fort Wayne, IN.
The gift division of Messe Frankfurt's Ambiente show, February 20–24, has been renamed World of Gifts Unlimited. It will feature 1,300 exhibitors, and joins Ambiente's other divisions: the World of Table, Kitchen & Housewares, and the World of Interiors.
The National Association of College Stores' CAMEX show, February 27–March 2 in San Antonio, will feature speakers Madeleine Albright (former Secretary of State) and Barbara Bush (former First Lady). The Democrat and the Republican will appear at different times, of course.
Urban Expositions will relocate and expand its Gulf Coast Gift & Resort Merchandise Show to the new Galveston Island Convention Center at the San Luis Resort in Galveston Island, TX, beginning with the October 12–14, 2004, event.
Grace Licensing, Bainbridge, IN, signed Americana folk artist Cindy Shamp. The agency also announced licensing deals for D. Morgan (Flowers Inc. Balloons), Dylan Scott Pierce (York Wall Coverings and Flowers Inc. Balloons), and Joyce Shelton (Giftcraft Ltd. and Leisure Arts).

Yankee Candle opened its second Yankee Candle Home Store, in Nashua, NH. If successful, the company will open several more stores this year.
